This Always Happens When I'm Not Home

I waited until noon hit before heading out today, and despite that, I still managed to miss the moment we traded Jody Shelley way to the Rangers for a 6th rounder.

They have been time when I've been annoyed that Shelley just glared at guys instead of punching them, but he's been a fan favoriet since right after he got here and we all loved the guy. He may punch faces in as part of his job but he was a super nice guy. You could tell he liked playing here too.

We'll miss you Jody. We'll miss your hilarious blog too. Good luck in NY.

I'm going to miss Shelley...

I've always loved Shelley. It's a completely irrational love, too. He's not particularly good at anything, but he's willing to drop the gloves, and he's hilareous, and on the off chance he ever scored a goal, it was always a highlight of the season for me.

Making it even worse is that he's traded to a team I really dislike. For the most part I just dislike all teams from New York. But in this case it pains me that Jody is going to have to go stand up for Sean Avery's jackassery. Sigh.
